I’ve been making lemon blossoms for more than 10 years. This recipe is incorrect. The original Paula Deen recipe did not call for water. The texture will be completely wrong and they will not turn out well. This batter should be extremely thick and sticky. That’s what gives it a moist pound cake texture. They are delicious….but DO NOT use water! ??? I gave it 5 stars when it is made correctly!

Due to ā€˜shrinkflation,ā€ cake mixes are now 15 ounces and pudding is 3.4 ounces. So, the recipe isn’t incorrect. Just need to adjust the amount of mix upwards or other ingredients less.

I am debating whether I prefer glaze just on top or complete blossom. Both are fabulous though! I have eaten so many just to decide ~ lol. I used 3 tablespoons water and 3 tablespoons vegetable oil. They came out so fluffy and popped right out of tin with original pam. I also decreased the temperature to 325. If you watch Paula’s video on facebook she states 325 where the website recipes calls for 350. 325 worked great for 12 minutes on my oven. 5 stars for this one!
